Supervision & Leadership Series

The Supervision & Leadership Training series is a set of intensive two-day workshops geared to help progressive non-profit organizations and unions by developing the capacity to continually improve the skills of staff supervisors and leads.

Organizations often promote brilliant organizers to supervisory positions, but they haven’t had experience or training in leading staff in an organizing setting. Our Supervision & Leadership Series helps both new and experienced supervisors become better at motivating staff and ensuring accountability. Frameworks also address problems that can paralyze an organization, such as departure of a top leader, loss of morale, and dissension among the staff.

We Teach Supervisors to:

  • Use systems and processes which are consensus-based or collaborative and take into account the input, the best thinking, and the decisions of the entire team
  • Ascertain how well an individual is functioning in the organization and meeting the goals of the organization
  • Set work standards and establish a system of mutual accountability among the entire team and between the team and the supervisor
  • Grow the capacity of the team so more leaders can emerge who are capable of taking on more responsibility, and the organization can grow in turn.
  • Prepare for staff/team meetings and to coordinate tasks so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Connect with the team to prevent leadership burnout.
  • Hold their team accountable and link them with other resources that can help them in their work
  • Hold themselves accountable to mentor, train, lead, support, and protect the mission of the organization

Schedule a training

Trainings can be offered for individual organizations, or with multiple groups attending at the same time. If you only have a few supervisors to send, we can work together to find others that may also be interested.

This is a very interactive, hands-on training that will build a theoretical framework for supervision as well as offering practice in new skills that will be immediately applicable. Since we offer deep support to each individual who attends, we are able to accommodate a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 20 participants.

The cost for this training starts at $8,000 for a two-day session (for 6-8 participants), with more participants meaning a higher cost. One way to make it affordable is to attend a training with several other organizations. Reach out to us to schedule or find out more using the consultation link below.
